Pedro Arrupe Award
The Pedro Arrupe Award was established in 1991 to recognize a
Marquette junior, man or woman, who emulates the values and ideals
of Fr. Pedro Arrupe, a Superior General of the Society of Jesus from 1965 to 1981.
Fr. Arrupe was a man of simplicity, warmth and optimism, living a life
committed to serving the poor and leading others to explore the link
between faith and justice. This award recognizes an individual whose
service to others exemplifies the spirit of a Marquette education. The
Jesuit Community’s generosity helped endow the award several years ago.
The 2007 award recipient received a stipend in the amount of $1,500
at an awards dinner held on Friday, September 21, 2007.
